Chicago
Although it may not have the same kind of glamour from a tourism point of view as New York does, Chicago is in many ways a much better destination for travelers than the Big Apple, and offers plenty of different attractions for visitors to enjoy during their stay. While the city may not have the same kind of world class attractions as New York, in the form of the iconic sights, what it does offer is fantastic entertainment, great sight seeing, awesome shopping, and a location that is first class for exploring the sights and sounds of the US.
One of the best things about Chicago from a visitor's point of view is its location on the shores of Lake Michigan. During the summer there is always something going on down on the lake shore, and in really good weather, you will be able to lie back on the sands and soak up the sun.
If you are travelling to Chicago in order to do business, then the chances are that you will be spending the vast majority of your time in the city center. Conveniently, this is also the location of most of the attractions that you will want to see during your stay. Don't forget to go shopping on Michigan Avenue, which is at least as good as Fifth Avenue in New York!
The Miracle Mile is one of the most famous areas in Chicago, and here you will find plenty of the most famous buildings in the city - the Sears Tower looms over the Loop and is one of the most iconic buildings in the world. It remains the tallest building in the country, and the views from the top of the structure are absolutely incredible. On a clear day you can see more than a hundred miles!
Thanks to a population that has come to Chicago from all over the world, the city is one of the most diverse and cosmopolitan places that you can imagine. There is a real excitement available in the nightlife, and the diversity of the city has acted as a crucible for the arts. You will be able to find clubs and bars that suit all tastes, from the laid back to the thrilling.
